La sencillez de la que nos habla Jesús en el `Evangelio de hoy está muy unida a la capacidad que los seres humanos tenemos de admiración, de dejarnos sorprender por las cosas pequeñas de la vida. Por lo cotidiano que no hace ruido, pero que suele portar regalos maravillosos si nos fijamos.

Y esta sencillez va de la mano de la posibilidad de descansar, de no estar en tensión todos los días luchando por metas imposibles o por cambios improbables.

Tiene más que ver con la confianza (eso que en cristiano llamamos Providencia) y con la confianza en los otros, que no son rivales, sino hermanos y compañeros de camino, peregrinos hacia una meta común y gratuita que nada tiene que ver con la competición por los primeros puestos (esos ya están otorgados en el Reino a los más sencillos, para escándalo de muchos).

Descanso que también podríamos traducir como contemplación, como centrarse en lo único importante porque lo demás ya se nos da por añadidura.

Y bendita añadidura que nos saca de la ilógica de la depredación del semejante. Nada nos pertenece. Todo pertenece a los sencillos, a aquellos hombres y mujeres que todo lo esperan y que disfrutan con lo sutil e inútil, con lo incontable de las estrellas del cielo o de las arenas del mar. Algo que nos da muchas claves en la actualidad para vivir de otra manera, para ayudar a construir (en vano se cansan los albañiles) un mundo más habitable para nosotros y para los que vienen detrás, sean de aquí o de allá porque todo es un aquí sin fronteras para los hijos del Padre.

Porque así le ha parecido mejor, aunque a nosotros no nos lo parezca.
