El otro Jesús

No estamos acostumbrados a ver a un Jesús como el del Evangelio de este domingo. Más bien no lo queremos ver.

Es ese Jesús que después de leer en su pueblo la hermosa profecía de Isaías (la de la liberación y el perdón), les dice a los suyos que allí no va a hacer milagros, quizá no los pueda hacer, no lo sabemos.

Y si eso no bastase hace dos citas de la Escritura que a los suyos (judíos como él) les hacen palidecer. Otros dos grandes profetas, Elías y Eliseo, que hacen dos grandes milagros a dos personas que no pertenecían al pueblo elegido: la viuda de Sarepta y Naaman el Sirio. La primera del actual Líbano y el segundo del país que todavía hoy existe (República Árabe de Siria).

Por todo ello (la negación de los milagros y los ejemplos dolorosos de unos extranjeros paganos que no tenían la fe del Dios de Israel y que fueron curados o salvados en lugar de otros muchos que tendrían preferencia) los vecinos de Jesús quieren tirarlo por un barranco.

Es verdad que Jesús sale caminando por el medio de ellos como si nada, pero es el primer enfrentamiento serio que recoge Lucas el evangelista.

Jesús se comporta como un provocador, como  ese hombre que es capaz de ir a las profundidades de la vida sin importarle demasiado las consecuencias. Podría haber sido más conciliador o haber dicho otras palabras, pero no, se lo suelta a bocajarro a aquellos que lo habían visto crecer (“Es el hijo del carpintero”)

Jesús no se conforma con lo obligado, con lo debido, con la salvación unida a la pertenencia de un pueblo, aunque sea elegido. Jesús ve lo importante, el corazón, algo que va a repetir tantas veces. No es el milagro fácil o caprichoso, el milagro obligado. Esos esquemas de “salvación debida” (por parentesco, por elección) se rompen en mil pedazos. Jesús siempre va más allá, se sumerge en lo importante, en lo esencial de cada persona. En ese regalo ilimitado que es la misericordia de un Dios que está más allá y más acá de lo que nosotros consideramos obligado. De un Dios con rostro de misericordia para todos los que la pidan o necesiten, sin pedir nada a cambio.
